The Biggest Takeaways from ACCE26 in New Orleans: Chambers Are Building What Comes Next

The ACCE Annual Convention in New Orleans brought together chamber leaders from across the country to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and explore how chambers can continue evolving as catalysts for economic and community growth. Against the backdrop of a city known for resilience, creativity, and reinvention, one message came through clearly: the future belongs to chambers that are willing to think bigger.

Chambers are no longer simply membership organizations. The most successful chambers are becoming strategic partners that convene stakeholders, drive investment, solve community challenges, and demonstrate measurable impact. From revenue diversification and stakeholder engagement to workforce development and community leadership, the conversations focused on how chambers can create greater value in a rapidly changing environment.

Another key takeaway was the importance of telling a stronger story. Data matters, but impact stories move people. Whether engaging investors, recruiting talent, or building public-private partnerships, chambers must clearly communicate the difference they make in their communities.

Power 10 was proud to be part of the conversation by leading a session titled, “Chamber Capital Campaigns: Go Big and Win!” alongside two outstanding chamber leaders and POWER 10 clients: Ali Rauch, President & CEO of the Opelika Chamber of Commerce, and Kami Welch, President & CEO of the Greater Arvada Chamber of Commerce.

The session explored how chambers can build the vision, strategy, and community support needed to successfully launch and execute transformational capital campaigns. Attendees shared their challenges, asked thoughtful questions, and explored how bold investments can strengthen chambers while expanding their impact.

The session was at capacity and well attended, reflecting a growing interest among chambers in pursuing ambitious investments that position their organizations for long-term success.

As chambers headed home from New Orleans, the opportunity is clear: the organizations that embrace bold ideas, build strong partnerships, and invest in their future will be the ones leading their communities forward.

Congratulations to the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce for being a fantastic host! It was fun to get out and see the French Quarter again, and visit Mardi Gras World.
